The innovative summer course is developed through Copenhagen Health Innovation – a partnership dedicated to enhancing health innovation through education and innovative projects.
Practical introduction to surgery
The new international summer course in surgery is based at Copenhagen Academy for Medical Education and Simulation (CAMES). CAMES is a world leading training center in surgical simulation and will provide state of the art simulation experiences including virtual reality simulators, phantoms, and operations on live pigs..
The summer course consists of two modules:
• Introduction to surgery with hands on simulation training (2,5 ECTS)
• Introduction to surgery with simulated team-training and clinical experiences (2,5 ECTS)
The focus is on hands-on training, where participants are introduced to and practice surgery procedures on simulators and pigs, and shadow experienced surgeons in the hospital.

The summer course is scheduled for August 2017 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Who can apply?
International and Danish medical students who have obtained a bachelor’s degree and have completed a minimum of three terms of medical studies at master’s level.
Tuition fee for both courses is:
EU/EEA citizens: 5,000 DKK / Non-EU/EEA citizens: 9,000 DKK
