The Swedish Red Cross Centre for Persons Affected by War and Torture in Malmo
Name of project: The Swedish Red Cross Centre for Persons Affected by War and Torture in Malmoe
Project manager: Anette Carnemalm
Project mission statement:
Providing care for refugees who have been traumatized by war and/or torture and suffer from PTSD and post-migration stress.
Within a possible CSR co-op, we would like to focus on our providing Istanbul protocols, an investigation and documentation of injuries – physical and psychological – from torture, which is a legal document that can help survivors of torture in their asylum seeking process. The investigation is extensive, requires much of the patient´s and the clinician´s time and efforts and at present we have no financial aid for this. So far no one has been turned down in their need for this reason, but we can see an escalating need and will therefore need extended means.
Project start: 1988
Project location: Malmö, at Drottninggatan 2 C
Annual project budget: 11M SEK, but for the Istanbul protocol work rather >300 000 SEK
Ideal CSR partner profile: a company with interest in and a wish to associate with the work for human rights
