The Data Visualisation Workshop will take place in Copenhagen on June 1st and 2nd, 2025. It is a collaboration between Nordic Society of Human Genetics and Precision Medicine (NSHG-PM) and the NordForsk-funded PreciMENT, and will be led by Cara Thompson (UK), an experienced data visualisation specialist with a background in developing effective and standardized visualisation models for scientific and medical research.
This workshop is designed for researchers and professionals working with complex data, providing practical methods and tools to improve clarity and communication through visual representation. Participants will learn about different types of visualisations, effective use of color and text, and best practices for creating reproducible and standardized figures. Resources for different tools will be signposted as we go. R code snippets will be shared for those who want to reuse them.
The workshop will include hands-on exercises, and participants are encouraged to bring their data for practical application. The workshop focuses on key principles that can be applied to any tool, with practical exercises using participants’ data and offering strategies for future projects.
