Both Denmark and Sweden have recently published their updated national life science strategies. There are obviously both similarities and differences between the two strategies, which have been drafted in parallel but – apparently – not as such coordinated.
As an organization representing a life science cluster literally bridging Danish and Swedish life science we used our Annual Summit 11th of November and the opportunity provided to bring together Danish media Medwatch with the Director of the Swedish´s Governments Office for Life Sciences, Jeanette Edblad for an interview about the two strategies.
One of her key point is, that more Danish-Swedish-Nordic collaboration is needed, something highlighted somewhat more explicitly in the Swedish strategy than the Danish. Jeanette Edblad also highlights the potential in joining forces at the EU level an pioneer innovative input to a strategy on the EU-level.
