Mario Draghis repport from 2024, ”The future of European competitiveness” explicitly highlights Medicon Valley as a life science cluster with the potential to that transcends narrow national perspectives and frameworks on innovation and competitiveness. But to realize the full potential, create something that is greater then the sum of its parts and be able to challenge US and China, leading European clusters including Medicon Valley pioneered by Denmark and Sweden as the two leading life science nations in the Nordics must strengthen collaborations and remove barriers for instance when it comes to clinical trials.
