For the third time, Medicon Valley Alliance passed the “European Cluster exam” with flying colors. The certification, which is conducted by the European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis (ESCA), an institution established by the European Commission, evaluates, and ranks clusters according to for instance strategic and financial leadership, value creation and professionalism, or as it is officially defined by ECSA.
“Cluster management organisations holding a GOLD Label show their documented commitment towards a continuous improvement of their organisational structures and routines for the benefit of an even higher performance”
Contributing to the all-time high result are among other things the successful project management of the ReproUnion project, the DiaUnion project and the Microbiome Signature project and the ability to continuously expand and very visibly help position the Medicon Valley life science cluster regionally, nationally and internationally.
”It´s not easy to manage and develop a bi-national cluster, with the explicit ambition to gather public and private stakeholders around strategic projects, which can help put the Nordics on the map. The ReproUnion project illustrates that it can be done to the benefit of academic research and industry alike, first and foremost to the benefit of the growing number of patients in Danmark and Sverige, who needs professional help to realize their dreams of parenthood” says Anette Østergaard, Senior Vice President, M.Sc. Pharm & MBA, Ferring Pharmaceuticals
