2008 ATTRACTING LIFE SCIENCE TALENT TO MEDICON VALLEY

Every year MVA invites all members to the Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting always focuses on an issue of current importance to the life science sector in Medicon Valley.

In 2008 the Annual Meeting was held on 23 October. The programme focused on current and future HR issues in Medicon Valley and tried to answer questions such as: Do we have the appropriate competences needed to develop the region’s pipeline of life science leads to market? How do we maintain and recruit the best talent?

These challenges for Medicon Valley were discussed with a panel of regional actors from the life science industry including Daniel Spasic, CEO, TFS Trial Form Support; Kristen Drejer, CEO, Symphogen; Kurt K. Larsen, Chairman, DSV; and Pia Kinhult, Regional Council Commissioner, Region Skåne.

The panel was supplemented by two representatives from the Swedish and Danish government: The Swedish Minister for Nordic Cooperation Cristina Husmark Pehrsson and Bo Smith, Permanent Secretary, Danish Ministry of Employment.
