Improving the Lives of Women: Advancing Endometriosis Research with Machine Learning

Medicon Valley Alliance, in collaboration with the FEMaLe Project, invites you to join its Final Event. This event will highlight how innovative research and cutting-edge machine learning technologies are being used to transform the lives of women affected by endometriosis.

Endometriosis impacts around 10% of women of reproductive age. Despite its prevalence, it remains under-researched and often misunderstood. This event will showcase groundbreaking advances from the FEMaLe Project, share best practices from Scandinavia, and explore strategies to improve the lives of women with endometriosis.

Take advantage of this unique opportunity to connect with patients, interdisciplinary researchers, health professionals, innovators, and policymakers dedicated to advancing women’s health through impactful research and technology.

Date: Thursday, 12th December, 2024
Time: 14:00 – 18:30
Venue: Medicon Valley Alliance, HUB3, Arne Jacobsens Allé 13, 2300 Copenhagen S, Denmark – Auditorium

Dorte Rytter, an expert in reproductive epidemiology and the developmental origins of health and disease, has expanded her research focus to include endometriosis. She has already achieved significant progress by successfully establishing the necessary data framework using national registers.
Mette Nyegaard focuses on human genome variation and its impact on biological processes. Her long-standing interest in endometriosis began during a two-year postdoctoral research stay with Dr. Linda Giudice’s group at Stanford Medical School.
Attila Bokor has extensive expertise in non-invasive diagnostic techniques for endometriosis and holds a particular clinical interest in the surgical treatment of colorectal deep endometriosis.
Dmitrijs Bliznuks has a strong background in computer science, specializing in prototyping, embedded systems, machine learning, and image analysis.
Nicolas Bourdel is a specialist in laparoscopic surgery, focusing on oncology and deep endometriosis, at the University Hospital of Clermont-Ferrand in France. He also holds a PhD in computer-assisted surgery from the same institution. Moreover, he co-founded SurgAR and has served as its CEO since 2019.
