IHE Forum 2026: Sweden’s Pharmaceutical System in Transition – from Global Politics to Regional Decision-Making
Sweden’s pharmaceutical system is facing a period of rapid change. Global geopolitical tensions, evolving international pricing strategies, and the accelerating development of advanced therapies are all affecting how, when, and at what cost new medicines reach healthcare systems.
IHE Forum 2026 will explore how Sweden can respond to these developments while continuing to enable access to innovative treatments within increasingly constrained healthcare budgets. The conference will address key policy questions around pharmaceutical costs, drivers of expenditure, uncertainty in supply, and how access to medicines can be secured within sustainable financial frameworks.
Bringing together representatives from healthcare, public authorities, academia, industry, and patient organisations, IHE Forum 2026 offers a timely arena for discussion on the future of Sweden’s pharmaceutical system in a more uncertain world.
As in previous years, science journalist Lisa Kirsebom will moderate the event.
Date: 3 – 4 September 2026
