This year, MVA is celebrating it´s 25th year anniversary. The online-only days are fortunately over, and, consequently, we are excited to invite members of Medicon Valley Alliance’ Executive Club to the first 2022 MVA Executive Club Dinner meeting.

MVA has succeeded in “recruiting” US-based Jonathan P. Gertler, MD, Co-Founder, Managing Partner & CEO, Back Bay Life Science Advisors and Managing Director, Bioventures MedTech Funds as our keynote speaker for the upcoming MVA Executive Club Meeting and we will have the pleasure of Jonathans – and hopefully your – physical presence here in Copenhagen at Clarion Hotel Copenhagen Airport, 16th of May, 18:00 – 21.00 hours.

The following points will be addressed:

• Key strategic trends within life science in recent years and into the near future – the convergence and transformation among the three life science pillars of BioPharma, MedTech and Healthtech offer challenges as well as meaningful opportunity in development and investment
• Denmark and Sweden have seen transformation especially in the Biotech community and with the growth of other sectors are poised to expand their role across the life sciences and healthcare. Both nations have even greater potential for visibility and competitive strength and the issues that will drive that will be discussed
• How could Medicon Valley engage more actively and synergically with the Boston area when it comes to life science. Where else should it look to contribute and collaborate and why?

SPEAKER

Jonathan P. Gertler, MD has over 35 years of clinical and scientific experience, and extensive advisory work with biotechnology, medical device, diagnostic, and health care IT companies in both the private and public sectors. A former academic vascular surgeon, Dr. Gertler is a frequent speaker and writer on strategic issues facing life science companies at all stages. He has founded several life sciences companies, including Antyllus Therapeutics; a development-stage biotechnology company focused on aortic diseases, and Optivio, a commercial-stage enterprise software platform for stress management and performance optimization. Dr. Gertler also founded Cardiovascular Technologies, an endovascular company that successfully exited in 2001. Throughout his advisory career, Dr. Gertler has counseled companies on growth and liquidity strategies and has been responsible for significant aggregate consideration in M&A private and public equity for biotech, medtech, and HCIT companies. Before his advisory and consulting career and during the latter phases of his academic career, he was a venture partner at SV Life Sciences from 1997-2001.

ABOUT MEDICON VALLEY ALLIANCE EXECUTIVE CLUB

The main objective with the Medicon Valley Alliance Executive Club is to provide a relevant and informal setting for networking among Medicon Valley executives. This setting will strengthen the ties between Medicon Valley executives as well as strengthen their commitment to the Medicon Valley region.

The Executive Club meets twice a year for an approximately 3 hour culinary dinner meeting in the evening with a prominent guest speaker. The dinner meetings will take place at Clarion Hotel Copenhagen Airport and there is room for around 50 executives at each dinner meeting.

Membership is by invitation only.

All executives representing biotech, medtech, pharma, CRO, CMO and investor companies, as well as science parks, higher learning institutions and regional councils among MVA members are automatically member of the club.
