About the Role
As our Head of Project Development & Fundraising, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the Medicon Valley ecosystem. Your focus will be on identifying strategic opportunities, building strong consortia and partnerships across academia, industry, and the public sector, and securing funding that fuels growth and innovation.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and deliver stronghold projects that position Medicon Valley as the leading life science cluster in the EU.
- Proactively, identify and help shape stronghold projects and secure funding opportunities for these or other potential strong initiatives from EU, Nordic, national and international sources.
- Build and nurture partnerships with the EU, foundations, investors, companies, universities, and public institutions.
- Write compelling funding proposals and manage the fundraising process from idea to deal closure.
- Support MVA’s mission by enabling projects that fuel innovation, collaboration, and competitiveness.
What We’re Looking for
We seek an experienced project developer and fundraiser who can turn ideas into action and impact. You:
- Hold a relevant academic background.
- Bring at least 5 years’ experience in project development and fundraising for non-profit or purpose-driven organizations.
- Have a strong track record of project development and fundraising (proposal writing, deal-making, negotiation). Knowledge of EU funding is a strong advantage.
- Understand the fundraising landscape and innovation ecosystem in life science.
- Are a skilled communicator with excellent networking and stakeholder management.
- Thrive in triple-helix and cross-border settings, working seamlessly across academia, industry, and the public sector.
- Communicate fluently in English (Danish and/or Swedish is an advantage).
- Are self-driven, positive, team player and motivated by making a difference.
- Experience in innovation, research, entrepreneurship, or the start-up scene is a strong plus.

Practical Information and Deadline
It is a full-time position, reporting to the CEO, but in close collaboration with colleagues. The location is in Ørestaden, Copenhagen (with a limited hybrid option included).
