River Stone is a synthetic biology venture with a focus on pharmaceutical applications. River Stone work in 3 areas: a) Improving the production and utility of CNS targeting products, with an initial focus on alkaloids, ii) The production of small molecule bioactives in-situ in humans, iii) The provision of synbio tools and libraries to others. The River Stone team contains some of the pioneers of commercial synthetic biology, and has successfully taken synthetic biology products all the way from idea to full scale product launch multiple times. River Stone integrates molecular biology, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, synthetic chemistry, fermentation, purification, scale-up, ADMET and regulatory aspects. The main research effort is based in Copenhagen, with financing primarily from the USA.
