Can we boost our cultural attractiveness? New MVA chairman column in Nordic Life Science News by Niels Abel Bonde

Both Danes and Swedes like to emphasize, and often make fun of, the more or less significant differences between our cultures. From the outside looking in, however, we are also very much alike, and just as fish can’t see water, we are often blind to elements of our own culture, because we take norms, habits, and social practices for granted. One such element often highlighted by foreigners living in both Denmark and Sweden is that it is considered hard to make friends with Swedes and Danes. Do they have a point and if so, what could we do about it?
This question was the source of inspiration for my latest chairman column, which I hope you will enjoy.
